The ideal candidate will come from a product development background, predominantly working on electronic development. The candidate will also have experience working on all stages of the product development lifecycle and must have a degree in electronics engineering. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support in the development life cycle of electronic equipment for predominantly Aerospace & Defence applications.

The ability to gain UK based security clearance to SC level is essential for this role. The role is to support the Principal Engineer and other engineering staff to ensure that product design meets customer requirements and is delivered on time and to cost. The successful candidate will provide design guidance and technical expertise and liaise with other team functions on Aerospace & Defence projects.

  • Electrical / Electronic degree
  • Has Electrical/Electronic design and development product experience
  • Experience of electronics architectural design including schematic entry, PCB layout and grounding schemes
  • Design of analogue and digital circuits using Altium Designer 19 CAD package
  • Interface and communications protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, CAN, SPI, etc.)
  • Five years’ experience working in the Electronics industry
  • Experience in writing technical specifications at system level
  • Have a broad understanding of Electronics and Controls circuits
  • Knowledge of DEF-STAN, DO178, IEC 61508, ISO 26262 Standards
  • Product certification requirements: EMC, Safety, LVD, ISO, etc
  • Experience of circuit protection techniques and design of interface circuits for use in harsh electrical environments
  • An understanding of brushless motor servo drive operation
  • An understanding of power electronics and control system design
