This week, Stirling Dynamics is taking part in the F-35 Cockpit Demo Event at the IET in London. As a UK-supplier into the F-35 programme, Stirling was delighted to be invited to participate. The event aims to increase the knowledge of the F-35 programme, particularly the vital role played by UK industry. The F-35 provides game-changing, 5th generation capability to the UK Armed Forces. To date, the F-35 programme has generated $12.9 billion in contracts for British suppliers and the programme will go on to support more than 500 companies and 20,000 jobs in the UK throughout the 30-year production phase.
Stirling has been closely engaged with the F-35 programme for many years and is the sole suppliers of active side sticks and throttles for the F-35 pilot training simulators. Since winning the contract to supply Lockheed Martin back in 2005, we have successfully provided prototype and pre-production units to the company’s Orlando base and recently delivered its 300th production F-35 unit into the simulator programme.
Whilst at the event, Stirling’s team will be networking with other show attendees and discussing the role we play in the F-35 programme. Commenting on Stirling’s attendance, Stirling’s Aerospace and Marine Systems Business Unit Manager, Gareth Vaughan said: “It’s great to be involved in an event like this which recognises the UK’s contribution to the F-35 programme. We are proud to supply into this programme and to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.”
