We are delighted to announce the development of a new active control product, the CH-47 Chinook Thrust Control Lever. The Chinook, which is often referred to as the workhorse of the sky, is a tandem-rotor, multi-role helicopter used by more than 19 countries worldwide.
Our CH-47 Thrust Control Lever has been specially developed to replicate the look and feel of the real aircraft controls, including the ability to link tandem controls. This new product adds to the range of aircraft specific devices that harness our established technology delivering the key features of active controls (providing force feedback and tactile cueing), which are compact and configurable in real-time. When teamed with Stirling’s active pedal and cyclic products, the new thrust control lever forms part of the wider CH-47 Chinook cockpit set.
The new CH-47 Thrust Control Lever was designed in close collaboration with our customer, an expert in flight simulators and procedural training systems. The first article CH-47 Thrust Control Lever was successfully manufactured and delivered to the launch customer in September. On the new product, Stirling’s ACT Business Manager, Jonathan Boon commented: “We are pleased to introduce the CH-47 Thrust Control Lever to Stirling Dynamics’ growing active control rotary-wing product range, which also includes the UH-60 and CH-53K”.
