This year, the world’s largest modelling, simulation and training event, the Interservice/ Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) has gone virtual. The show’s organising body, the NTSA, has decided to go virtual due to safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the virtual replacement, vIITSEC, was announced in October. Taking place between the 30th Nov – 4th Dec, vIITSEC will provide a virtual platform for the modelling, simulation and training industry and will include a full conference suite of papers, tutorials, online networking, and a virtual exhibition hall.
Stirling Dynamics has taken a virtual exhibition booth, and staff will be available and online throughout the duration of the show. Stirling’s ACT Business Unit Manager, Jonathan Boon commented: “It was disappointing but not unexpected that I/ITSEC in its usual format was being cancelled this year. I/ITSEC is an important event in our calendar, but it absolutely was the right decision to cancel. We appreciate NTSA’s efforts in bringing together a virtual replacement and are excited to take part in the first-ever virtual I/ITSEC, as it allows us to showcase our latest simulator training products and interact with customers, old and new.”
This year, Stirling Dynamics will be highlighting its latest CH-47 Chinook Thrust Control Lever product, which has been specially developed to replicate the look and feel of the real aircraft controls, including the ability to link tandem controls. When teamed with Stirling’s active pedal and cyclic products, the new Thrust Control Lever forms part of the wider CH-47 Chinook cockpit set.
