Year in Review: A Challenging but Positive Year, and the Future’s Bright

As 2024 fades into the past, we at Stirling Dynamics take pride in reflecting on a year filled with remarkable achievements and milestones. Our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence has once again propelled us to new heights in the engineering industry.

Despite a challenging market, we achieved an impressive 20% growth last year. Our dedication to delivering customer delight was evident in our 97% satisfaction score.

These accomplishments underscore our commitment to providing exceptional value and service to our clients.

Key Highlights in 2024

Aerospace: One of our standout achievements was securing a contract with one of the industry leading partners in Asia to develop landing gears. We successfully completed the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), marking a crucial step forward in this exciting project. We also had a significant development in our new capability in DO-254, positioning Stirling Dynamics as a leader in developing airborne electronic hardware for safety-critical aircraft systems.

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM): We delivered airworthy inceptors that are set to play a pivotal role in the flight test program for electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This achievement reflects our dedication to advancing the future of aviation and supporting the development of sustainable transportation solutions.

Training and Simulation: At I/ITSEC 2024, we proudly demonstrated our latest advancements and launched new products in flight and simulation technology, including our latest Compact Lite Stick and Compact Lite Throttle. These products enable customers to access Stirling Dynamics' expertise and proven track record at a lower price point.

Aviation: Our presence at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2024 further highlighted our commitment to innovation and excellence in bespoke and innovative cabin interior solutions for the aviation sector. Coupled with the EASA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA) capability, we provide complete end-to-end modification programs.

Marine: Our unwavering support for the UK marine industry continued in 2024, with a focus on providing autopilot systems as a Sovereign capability. This initiative reinforces our commitment to enhancing the capabilities and independence of the UK’s maritime sector.

Our Customers

Throughout the year, we attended numerous global events, conferences, and exhibitions, making valuable new connections and building on existing relationships with our industry partners and OEM manufacturers. Our work is often very niche and specific, offering bespoke and innovative solutions. Engaging with customers, understanding their business challenges, and developing tailored solutions is what drives us every day.

Our People

We are immensely proud to have once again been recognised as a Great Place to Work. This accolade is a testament to our positive workplace culture, where our employees’ well-being and professional growth are paramount. We believe that a supportive and inclusive environment is key to driving innovation and achieving excellence.

In 2024, we launched the Safety Engineer Development Programme and welcomed three candidates to join our Systems and Safety team. Additionally, we launched the Modelling and Simulation Training Programme, which received excellent feedback. We are proud of our strong history of developing graduates in their STEM careers.

Our Contribution to the Community

We supported our nominated charity, 1625 Independent People, throughout the year with various fundraising events, including sports, baking, quizzes, and fun seasonal activities. We raised £2,663 in total to support 1625 Independent People.

Our engineering team also visited local schools to share their stories of becoming engineers and offered insights into the engineering industry. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to inspire future generations to consider a career in engineering.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we look ahead to 2025, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering and delivering exceptional solutions to the challenges our clients face. We will continue to focus on our airworthy product development including EMA and inceptors, and look forward to being involved in more exciting customer projects (that we can’t talk about!).

We anticipate continued market challenges, with a focus on sustainability and tackling clients pain points. At Stirling Dynamics, we will continue to focus on developing innovative products to meet our customers' needs and help shape the future of aerospace and marine industries.
