Seat Repair
Application of 3D printed reinforcements to reduce failure of back shell panel
Stirling Dynamics has developed an effective solution involving reinforcement and advanced manufacturing techniques. The back shell panels, particularly the upper corners of the backrest module shell, are prone to cracks and damage due to impacts from hand luggage and other foreign objects. To solve this common issue faced by customers across different brands, we introduce the Seat Repair as a sustainable, cost effective, and easy solution to frequent breakages.

Root Cause Analysis & Optimal Reinforcement
Stirling Dynamics is able to conduct an extensive root cause analysis to understand the forces acting on the panels, followed by determining the optimal reinforcement strategy for different type of seat. In order to alleviate stress in critical areas and prevent failures.
The proposed solution involves pre-fabricated plastic elements (symmetrical) bonded to the inside of the backrest module shell using an elastic polymer-bonding agent. This reinforcement not only reduces the visible signs of breakages, but also prevents failures from occurring in the first place.
