A joint team of Expleo and Stirling Dynamics staff are happy to have once more competed in the 2021 Reginald Fessenden Sailing Challenge. This year the annual challenge managed to attract a total of 14 teams from the UK submarine sector including Thales, Leonardo UK, SEA Systems and SAAB Seaeye.
The first of four races kicked off at 11 am under great weather conditions that were blowing Force 3-4. Commenting on the race, team leader Dan Clark stated: “This is the second year that Stirling Dynamics and Expleo have competed in this sailing challenge, and I am delighted to see an improved position on our race in 2019, coming in 2nd overall. A great achievement and we saw some fantastic teamwork during the challenge. I must also offer my congratulations to Servowatch Systems for taking the Cup and my applause to Britannia for a great event.”
Stirling Dynamics and Expleo sponsored the event dinner and this year’s Reginald Fessenden Sailing Challenge raised in excess of £6k for The Not Forgotten Association, a unique national charity that provides much-needed entertainment and leisure facilities to servicing and ex-servicemen and women that have been injured during or after service in the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Airforce.
The Reginald Fessenden Sailing Challenge is an annual charity event held in the Solent in southern England that sees corporate manned yachting teams compete in multiple races in pursuit of the Reginald Fessenden Challenge Trophy.
